Members & groups

Roles, invitations, and access for your organization.

The Members settings screen is where you invite people to your organization, see who's already in, and change what they're allowed to do.

Members settings

Organization > Members: search and filter the member list, invite by email or shared link, and change a member's role.

Roles

Proliferate doesn't have separate "groups" or teams within an organization. Instead, every member has exactly one of three roles:

RoleWhat it can do
OwnerEverything an admin can do, plus manage other owners.
AdminManage organization settings, identity (SSO), secrets, integrations, the agent policy, and members (except owners).
MemberUse the organization's shared resources: cloud sandboxes, secrets, integrations, and repos. Can't change organization-wide settings.

Only owners and admins can see the admin settings screens documented in this section. Members don't see them.

Invite people

From Members, an admin or owner can:

  • Invite by email. Enter an address and pick a role (admin or member), then send the invite.
  • Share the invite link. Copy the organization's invite link if you'd rather not wait on email. It only works for someone who already has a pending invitation on that email address; it doesn't let a stranger join on its own.

Pending invitations show up alongside active members until they're accepted or revoked.

Manage existing members

For each active member, an admin can:

  • Change their role, moving them between admin and member. Only an owner can promote someone to owner or change another owner's role.
  • Remove them from the organization.

Use the search box and the role/status filters above the member list to find someone quickly in a larger organization.

  • Organizations for what else an organization owns.
  • Identity for how members authenticate.
  • Policies for restricting which auth routes and agents members can use.
