Monitoring & wake

Follow delegated sessions from the parent, wake one that is waiting, and promote one that outgrew its role.

Delegated sessions are visible work, not background jobs. Everything a child does is somewhere you can read it.

In the tab strip

A child's tab groups next to its parent under a small collapsible pill — for example, "3 agents" — so delegated work is easy to tell apart from tabs you opened yourself. Expand the pill to jump into any child.

In the Agents popover

The composer's Agents popover lists every delegated session with its current status and a Wake button.

Completion reports and wake

When a child finishes a turn, its final message is relayed to the parent as a completion report, and a receipt appears in the parent's transcript. Click through to read the full transcript behind it.

Wake nudges a child that is idle and has not scheduled a notification of its own. Use it when a session has been quiet longer than the work should have taken.

Info:

Delivery survives a restart. A completion committed while the app was closed still reaches the parent once, without duplicating.

Interrupting and closing

The parent can interrupt a child mid-turn, or close the relationship when the sub-task is done.

Closing is not deletion. The child's session, transcript, and any files it touched stay exactly where they are; what ends is the parent-child relationship and the roster entry.

Promoting a subagent

Promote turns a delegated session into an ordinary agent on the same conversation. Same session, same transcript, same workspace — a wider role.

Use it when a side investigation turns into the real work: a promoted session can create workspaces and agents, and is no longer bound to its former parent. Promotion takes effect on the next turn and does not restart the session or alter anything already in the transcript.
